Awright troops, Rob here.
Just wanted to wish our very own wee Munkyfish a happy 21st birthday today. Heh. So everyone come on here an post yer good wishes and embarrass the poor lassie even more.
We're working on a few wee gigs here and there but shoosh, cause it's a surprise. I now await a serious bawbootin from Munky but I don't care.

Just to let yous know we'll hopefully we'll be recording an ep before christmas, now we've found munky again. We'll try and squish some live dates in there too if yous behave yourselves.
Until then we've got a pile of free gif stuff to give away. If you fancy getting your sweaty little hands on the free gear you'll have to answer a fiendishly easy question...

just a wee update on what the band have been getting up to.
last weekend munky and nate ran the london marathon. munky qualified to run with the female elite next year! that means she'll be running alongside the best female distance runners in the world like paula radcliffe and susan chepkemei on tv so well in munk!
also congratulations to gif's mate jj luck who completed the london marathon. she was being featured on bbc 1's 'run for glory', and was raising money for breast cancer care. well in JJ mate!

munky's gonna be on bbc1 this monday (may 1st). she'll hopefully be playing in the womens FA cup final, but has an injury problem so she's not sure if she'll be fit in time. however she's been interviewed and asked to give permission for them to use clips of her playing and stuff so we should see oor wee munky on bbc1.

the band are in london just now to watch munky's game tomorrow. we'll hopefully be postin some photos up here in the next few days and mibby some audio (if we can figure out how to do that).

more details here
due to the death of malik joyeux at pipeline, gif mulley have decided to postpone the remaining dates of their winter/spring tour. so this now means that all december, january, and february dates have now been cancelled.
apologies to everyone who was looking forward to the tour, but malik was a close friend of the band and we didnt think it would be appropriate to tour in these circumstances, so we have decided to cancel all dates of the tour.
munky, who was a close friend of the family, recently flew out to tahiti with some of the north shore crew for a rememberance ceremony.
the band hope to reschedule this tour for spring/summer, but nothing is official yet. when anything is announced we'll post it here for yous.
sorry it took a while to get this explanation to you all but the band have been scattered all over, and have just been able to get together this week and get this sorted out.

so aye, it's been a while eh?
just a wee quick update to let yous all know what the band have been getting up to over the summer...musically.
- Rob toured europe for most of the summer on a tour to raise awareness for 'surfers against sewage'.
- gill did some session musician duties at the nokia boardmasters festival in front of a couple of thousand people a few weeks ago.
- nate dissapeared off the face of the earth for most of the summer, only surfacing for more alcohol. he also played onstage at the local bands tent at T in the Park in august.
- munky jetted off to nashville to record, then fucked off to the north shore to surf and record some more. you can also hear her on jill's upcoming record. but if you cant wait till then check out alex's new single ('looking for water'). lead guitar duties were handled by our very own munky. she also played geetar on alex's new album.

So aye, we're playin some warmup gigs this weekend.
unfortunately tickets to tonights gig in Ayr have sold out.
Also the gif's allocated tickets for the edinburgh gig tomorrow have all sold out aswell. although if you contact the jailhouse you might be able to scadge some.

just a wee quick update to tell yous to look out for the gif's very own munkyfish, who will be running the london marathon this saturday. she's dyed her hair bright red (not for the marathon, but i'm thinkin it'll mibby help you if you want to look for her in a wheres wally style game on tv)

we're planning a split ep with headwound to be recorded late may/ early june, and hopefully a 3 month tour of the UK and a few European dates in there aswell.
anyone who's having gif withdrawl (i.e the govan lot) can see me and nate supporting the snail next month, and alex said i could play geetar on the next tour...which hopefully isny gonna be the same time as our tour.
and were hopin to make it a sponsored 3 month tour cause j-to-the-f managed to get some rich people to get a listen to punk rock pirates. (cheers mate) got a phone at like 9am yesterday about meetin them. was still in my fuckin bed. how the fuck did they get my number?! its brendan's number on the cd. meh.
boomhaur got the site workin again. still lookin a bit shite but at least now its workin.

since the band are taking a break from touring just now, and i can see the tumble weed drifting around here, i'll set yous a competition.
post a comment on this journal entry telling us your favourite moment from ANY of gif mulley's tours or live shows. To make sure no one feels left out theres also a prize for whoever comes up with the either most embarrassing thing to happen to, or the funniest thing about a band member either on or off stage.
havent decided on a prize yet. probably a signed tshirt or free tickets or somethin. i'll need to go raid the gif mulley vault...or knick something off a band member.

So the christmas eve gig at rockviews is all sorted. Just remember its early doors (6pm). Thats so that everyone (mainly us) gets home at a decent fuckin hour. This aint community service, we're not hangin about with you vagabonds all night.
Since its christmas an all we were gonna make the gig free, and you guys could make a donation for charity. But fuck that you tight fisted bastards, so youre all paying £3 and its all goin to the Music for Kids charity.
